Hi, I’m TR! I’m a software engineer, tech leader, sports enthusiast, and Star Trek fan with a passion for building high-performing teams and products. With over 20 years of experience in the tech industry, I’ve watched firsthand how great product are delivered, not with just software, but through collaboration, mentorship, and leadership.
What to Expect
We're lieutenant junior grades, the least important mid-level officers. We do all the grunt work with none of the perks.
– Bradward Boimler
Inspired by the lower deck crew of the USS Cerritos from Star Trek: Lower Decks, my mission is elevating the unsung heroes in tech—the engineers and line managers who keep the engines running smoothly behind the scenes. Whether you’re writing code or tuning a warp core, I believe success lies in fostering strong team dynamics, thoughtful leadership, and the ability to act quickly in times of crisis.
A few times a week, I’ll share stories* written in the form of USS Starfleet away mission reports and daily logs, inspired by real experiences. They’ll come with a healthy dose of sci-fi, humor, and tech but the goal is to help others learn how to build cohesive teams, improve their development processes, or even take on the Kobayashi Maru (aka people management).
The Location
The stories takes place in the Star Trek Cinematic Universe, on a California Class Starship - the USS Page. It’s one of a handful of ships in the fleet that provides technical support for science ships and remote star bases.
The Crew
The USS Page has a crew compliment of just over a 150 officers and civilians, and is lead by Captain Serenna Jael – a tech-savvy and pragmatic leader, known for her creative approaches when repairing complex systems.
